As best I can tell, you are supposed to get married. And then the devil hangs out with you for a while. And THEN your mother-in-law shows up. She’s been eating children.

Not to worry, because you’re getting a new car. And then a two-headed door-to-door encyclopedia salesman shows up. Your life passes before your eyes. You think of scripture. And someone is jumping off a cliff to a dragon, which might be preferable after frame six. The devils is playing a lute. People are dancing.

All of this because you got married.

I’d never thought these things in reference to the passage in Matthew listed here, but we all will now:  “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
